Shaking things up...

I'm clean slating at kootoyoo.

I've made myself a new banner & am considering a move to Typepad. It seems like it's easier to keep everything under control over there? I'd appreciate your thoughts if you've experience in both blogger & typepad.

I've been feeling that things have gotten a little stale over here & am enjoying the friendly banter over at twitter. I want to make things a bit more friendly here too. We'll see how it goes...

This is the current blog roll. All well loved blogs I visit but I'm needing to shake things up around here.

New & improved blog roll coming soon...

love the new banner. is that Holly Hobbie sewing machine in black? or is it photoshopped to be black? looks very cool!

I was tempted to go to typepad and maybe one day I will....test it out for me first ok and report back!

Love the new banner!!
I used typepad for a while, but I really don't think it's worth paying for. I found the layout options limiting. And I didn't think it was very user friendly.

The header looks great and fresh. It seems that it is the year for blog do-overs. It must be a natural cycle because a lot of people are giving their old familiar blog a shake up. I am loving watching them morph into something new. As for typepad, I know nothing. I am all for free stuff. Cheers!

Kirsty, the new banner looks fab! Nothing like a long weekend for implementing a few changes.

I like your new header. I have also considered Typepad, but am not sure that it is worth the money. Blogger just keeps getting easier and easier to personalize. On that point: how did you insert those links ip the top of the page (under the header)? They look great.

Steph: Thanks I appreciate your feedback. I'm getting around blogger pretty well now. Maybe the devil you know really is better.

All: Thanks for the thumbs up on the header.

Selina & Corrie: Yes - Hollie Hobbie & black. It's super cute eh?

Cristy: If you google "adding a navbar to blogger" you should be right or you can email me & I'll send you the code.

Shhh! I'm trying to be on a break, but I missed you! When I saw your amazing new header I jumped into your comment box. I think of you as the queen of innovation... if you try typepad... I may just follow you. Have to change my navbar first... getting there now that I'm not posting every second. I think that you can try typepad for a month for free, but not sure. Congrats to your new granny squarer!

Kirsty, I am sure there are pros and cons for each.
What I can tell u about typepad is
u can upload photos directly from your picture library...no need to go thru Flicr or the like.
No restrictions on uploads
There is a great knowledge base/help desk.
U can have yr own photo albums
Seems easy to navigate..I cant compare to blogger as no experience.
there are different levels of subscription - I am one up from the basic, allowing me to personalise everything from headers, fonts and colours, save drafts and post date.
You can do a free trial for 14 days
Hope this helps

Love the new banner! You've put together a very intriguing collection of items. The little sewing machine is wonderful!

I've always been on typepad and I love it. Only thing is, my monthly cost just doubled because of the amount of bandwidth my blog uses, so now I'm looking into other options.

Ditto on the rockin' banner. It does seem to be the month for overhaulin in every way.

Never used Typepad, but watched bloggers go back and forward between that and Blogger. I'm all for the ease of Blogger and the fact that it's free, but then I don't have a shop - if I did I'd consider other options than Blogger for the business side of it. Good luck with the decision!

Love, love, love your new header. It looks fantastic. I know what you mean about a spruce up. I've been feeling a bit stale myself but haven't come up with any new directions...yet!

Your new banner is gorgeous! As for Typepad vs Blogger, why not WordPress??? I think a lot of the Typepad/WordPress blogs look the same in terms of layout and you don't have to pay for it. I find Typepad blogs can be slow to load at times compared with Blogger. I am on Blogger and I just find it easy to use - too taxing on my brain to try something else! It would be great it they introduced more templates though...
