How to make twisted cord...


Look how lovely & ropey that cord is.

I love twisted cord, it's touchability is high & it's super easy to make.


We used it as the closure for the pencil boxes we made at Brown Owls the other night & this lovely girl asked what it was.

Very nice! I like using hand-made twist for edges on embroidered work, and even for little edges (that can be glued down or couched down) on embroidered greeting cards.

You can get good results with a drill, if you have a loooooooooong length of cord to twist. Just use a hook in place of a drill bit, and hook your looped end of the cord on it - then "drill" away. It goes really really super fast.
